Karylle addresses pregnancy rumors: ‘It’s fake news’

It’s Showtime host Karylle set the record straight on the circulating rumors about her alleged pregnancy, clarifying that there is no truth to the speculation.

“I have been stopped on the street and congratulated for being pregnant and I have to explain of course that I am not pregnant. And this is the third time this news has circulated,” she said in the latest episode of her K’s Drama podcast.

Acknowledging the persistence of the false reports, Karylle admitted that outright denial often proves ineffective. “I knew a categorical denial would be useless because you want to believe what you want to believe and maybe you have a good feeling about congratulating me. And I think it’s not about education level. A lot of people have been fooled by this news.”

The Kapamilya star then stressed that there is no truth to the pregnancy rumors. “So, I am here to tell you once again that the news is fake. I hate fake news.”

Karylle reflected on the impact of such misinformation, despite it not being malicious, saying: “But how do we stop this kind of problem from happening, from circulating. Especially because it doesn’t seem like bad news. It’s not something that destroys my character. You don’t feel like a chismosa or a chismoso person by clicking or congratulating me on the comments section. So what’s wrong with it?”

Karylle then engaged in a discussion with former BIR commissioner Kim Henares on dealing with fake news.

Karylle is married to Spongecola lead singer Yael Yuzon. They tied the knot in Cavite in March 2014.

Back in March 2024, the couple celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary.

The couple renewed their vows in the same month to celebrate the occasion.

Prior to renewing their vows, Yael proposed to Karylle in an episode of It’s Showtime in February 2024.

“Magte-ten years na kami na kasal and alam mo yung thing kasi na being kasal na kayo ng ten years, parang mas maa-analyze mo ‘yung mga things through the ups and downs, mostly ups pero sa mga downs mo, actually, mas ma-analyze’ yung mga things,” Yael said reflecting on their journey.

He went on: “Tapos kung sigurado ka back then, mas madaling sigurado now kasi mayroon na tayong 10 years together. Kaso kasi may hindi ako nagawa before, and I’m going to do it now.”

The singer then knelt before the host, revealing a yellow box with a ring inside.

“Will you marry me again?” he asked, to which Karylle responded, “Yes!”
